I actually returned my blanket because it was too heavy for my liking. However, the review is based on the quality of the product and the customer service I received when returning the item. I emailed the customer service team and they offered me alternative weights, 5kg, 4kg or the 2kg children's option (that looks identical). So if you aren't sure, feel confident you can try one weight then change it to another if not suitable. The workmanship is excellent. I ended up getting a refund but that was also done with no fuss. A good company and I will use them again for other products.

This is a very well made weighted blanket. It looks lighter than it feels which is good. It's all in one. It really works well but if you're a size 14 plus I'd recommend buying the larger size. I'm going to give this to my slim husband and buy a larger one for me.

How do weighted blankets work?

How can I use the Mela Weighted Blanket?
All you need to do is arrange the weighted blanket so that it evenly covers your body lengthways. To increase the weight in any area, fold the blanket in half. You can place the weighted blanket on top or beneath your duvet, or even use it on its own.
What weight should I choose?
We currently have 3 options available for different body weights: Light Pressure (4-5.5KG - best for people weighing between 30-40kg), Medium Pressure (7 kg - best for people weighing between 40-60kg), and Deeper Pressure (9kg - best for people weighing between 60-90kg). The right size depends on the size and weight of the person using it, as well as their personal preferences.
What size should i choose?
We recommend choosing a standard size if you share the bed with someone or have a single sized bed & a large size if you want a bit extra to wrap yourself up in at night!
Are weighted blankets hot?
The primary function of a weighted blanket is to soothe you, rather than just keep you warm. The type of fabric used in your blanket determines how hot it will be. Because the Mela Weighted Blanket has a breathable, 100% cotton outer shell, it will maintain the perfect temperature no matter the season.
Can I share it with my partner?
Though we encourage you to share the benefits of the Mela Blanket with anyone who has trouble sleeping, it's not advisable that you actually share your weighted blanket with a partner. Weighted blankets are designed to be used by individuals for even weight distribution. If you share a bed with someone, we'd recommend using separate blankets. Our Standard sizes are designed to be able to fit 2 on the bed.
